Avenues Online takes advantage of best-in-class technology to create a singular, international community of scholars. Students interact daily with peers in over 25 countries, including France, Kenya, Korea, Mexico, Uruguay, Spain, South Africa, and the United States. This nurtures a global mindset where students learn to exercise empathy and collaborate across languages and cultures.

Students learn to use mental agility when facing ambiguity and how to apply creativity when working with abstractions. They develop metacognitive awareness that empowers them to absorb new information and skills long after graduation.

AON Learning Platform

The Avenues Online learning platform seamlessly integrates all facets of the student experience into one dashboard. From their dashboard, students and parents easily access daily schedules, Zoom links, courses, instructional resources, and assignments. Students submit work, receive teacher feedback, view grades and comments, and revisit past work all in one place. They can also customize their dashboard by adding personal events to their calendars, such as practices, rehearsals, group working sessions, and independent study time. This allows them to view their schedules at a glance and learn how to organize their time.

A community message board, affectionately known as The Quad, is also accessed from the student dashboard. This is where students post messages for the entire community, celebrate their classmates, and view student work from across the campus. Original artwork throughout the platform replicates bulletin boards and cheerful school hallways to engage students of all ages.

Core Experience

In Great Works, the core curriculum for toddlers to 12th grade, students collaborate on interdisciplinary projects in humanities, social sciences, and STEAM fields to make purposeful connections to past, present, and future global issues. A Great Books curriculum complements each unit of study. Students read and discuss curated texts which deepen their understanding of what they learn in class and bring to life the defining ideas of humanity. The result is a rare combination of academic depth and interdisciplinary breadth which guides students to make sophisticated connections between their coursework and the world around them.

Avenues Global Ecosystem

Avenues Online students have access to the network of Avenues campuses and learning experiences. Each year, Global Journeys and Mastery Academies bring together students from around the world to participate in location-based learning opportunities. Past offerings include: studying climate change in New Zealand, exploring biodiversity in Ecuador, practicing innovation and design in Shenzhen, learning about sustainable and ethical farming in Costa Rica, and immersing oneself in culture and language in Chengdu.

Avenues Online students are invited to celebrate milestone events, such as stepping-up and graduation ceremonies, at brick-and-mortar campuses. Additionally, Avenues Online students are eligible to transfer to brick-and-mortar campuses in New York, São Paulo, Shenzhen, and our upcoming campus in Silicon Valley.
